The sub-$700 price range is the most exciting segment for aerial photography drones. This is a highly contested battlefield where emerging brands such as XK and Cheerson get to take on established players such as DJI and Yuneec for market dominance. As prices of drones continue to tumble and technology progress, the sub-$700 segment has quickly become the segment that offers the best value when it comes to aerial photography drones. Here is our list of 10 best sub-$700 aerial photography drones for 2016.

The drones in this list meet the minimum requirements needed for professional aerial photography. This includes having a 2-axis or 3-axis camera stabilizer for taking smooth, vibration-free videos. Another criteria is a minimum resolution of HD 1080P for videos, GPS positioning and a flight time of no less than 15 minutes (in calm flying conditions).

Of course, there are drones below the $300 range that can take HD 1080P videos and have GPS but these models are mostly ill-equipped to produce aerial videos and photos for professional use. With that said, expect to spend well over $300 if you’re looking for an aerial photography drone that can produce professional results.

I don’t have much to say on the topic of the post; it was an enjoyable read and you should make a habit out of writing comparison articles like this!

I’m bound to buy myself a XIRO Xplorer one day. Its design reminds me of a stealthy fighter jet, the F-117, and I think they’re both beautiful. Meanwhile the prize for ultimate ugliness must go to the Parrot Bebop. It has a retro hipster look to it, which I dislike. It looks like a flying shoe.
